Meet Coach Victoria
Adult Competitor in Ice Dance at the Gold & International test levels
I started skating at age 4 on the creeks and ponds of my childhood countryside. My mother was a founder and President of the Skating Club of Wilmington, Delaware. I skated figures, freestyle and dance through adolescence, before and after school and all year round! After graduating from college, I coached in the Boston area. As an adult, while pursuing my career in Nursing, I returned to the ice here in the Bay Area.
I came on staff at Oakland Ice Center in 2019. I teach students coming on the ice for the first time, encouraging them through their trepidations and doubts; students who have returned as adults, like me, to their earlier passion; and students who are well along in their skating journey. Currently, my students range from ages 18 to their 70s and every decade between!
I emphasize building strong foundational skills in a supportive, positive environment. I meet my students where they are, identify their individual strengths and develop plans that guide them to success on the ice. In addition to Skating Skills, I specialize in Ice Dance, both solo and partnered. I prepare skaters for their Skating Skills (Moves in the Field) and Ice Dance tests.
